Just dance
Despite their different dancing styles and frustrations the two find a way of meeting in the middle. Katie continues to hide the relationship she has with Javier because of the disagreement it would cause. As time passes Javier opens up to Katie telling her that his father was taken from their home one night by Batista’s police under suspicion of being a revolutionary. Due to all the political unrest in Cuba, Javier proclaims that if they win the contest, he will bring his family to America. The final tweak to their routine comes when the dance teacher informs Katie that she has to connect with her fear of this Latin dancing in order to be able to move to the music. That is when she lets go of everything and begins to dance with such passion you could almost feel it.

Breaking out
Soon after Javier associates himself with Katie he looses his job, causing him to not want anything to do with her. Katie then runs to find Javier to make it up to him by proposing to him for them to join a Cuban Ballroom dance contest that came with a grand prize of $5000 dollars. The more time she spends with Javier she finds herself having a hard time letting go and just move to the music, "it's who you want to be in the moment." Javier tries to break through her stiffness and push through her comfort level. The new things Javier introduces to her along the way make her fall in love with not only him but the amazing she had never experienced before. The entire film is full of passion and lust for something they love doing and the love they feel for each other.

Letting go
The movie is set in times of revolution in Cuba in the 1950s causing Katie and Javier to never be destined to come together. Katie, a foreigner from St. Louis became immediately attracted to Javier the minute she saw him moving to the music the way he did. The minute the two dance together Katie feels such a strong connection she can't get away from. Although her parents do their best to set her up with the rich son of an American business owner who turns out to be a tremendous jerk who tries to push himself on her even when she pushes him away. That's when Katie runs back to the arms of Javier for comfort and as time goes by Katie realizes how much Javier interests her but not only for his dancing but his ambition and the love for his people.

Passion and love become one
Diego Luna and Romola Garai come together in Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights as Katey Miller and Javier Suarez, are 2 young teenagers who come from very different backgrounds who come together with the power of dancing. The young couple end up falling in love while putting their passion for dancing into play. I had never heard of this movie until about 2 weeks ago when I came across it while I was browsing for something to watch on tv. Instantly it caught my attention when I saw the two dancing with such pain and passion, it was almost as if I was on the other end watching them in real life. Half way through the movie my heart was on fire and was churning for more. I knew it was the best dancing-drama motion picture movie I'd ever seen.
